Four for $15 - #26

So yeah, I went to Franks today after a really long time, and I wasn't really planning on buying anything. But then I was walking down the third or fourth aisle, and I passed by this one dealer who was selling used books [they looked used, and most of them were kiddish anyways]. Now I typically pass by this shop because they mostly sell girly things, and I'm not really that much of a girl. =p Yep, and as I was glancing at the books whilst I was walking, I saw something--a manga.

It was Orphen, volume 4, and then I noticed the issue or two of Shonen Jump. I thought it was kind of weird, so I looked and there were two small stacks of manga. I was pursuing through and there were some volumes of Utena and something else and like two Japanese volumes. But then I found some issues of Kindaichi Case Files, picked em up, and decided to purchase them. The lady there said they were four dollars each, but she'd give them to me for fifteen. I was glad, thanked her, and found out she usually brings in used books and sometimes there's manga and I should stop by more often.

And I think I will :)

Tres Cajas - #25

Hola, senoritas y sernores! :{D ...Don't ask. Anyways, the third box came in the mail today, and so I will show you peoples what I have been busy ordering. Well, kind of.

Alright, so here we have the three boxes I of stuff I ordered. It looks like a lot, but it really isn't.
One box is from Barnes, the other two are from RightStuf.
Actually, I got two boxes from RS because one item was allegedly on back order for a while so they shipped the two items separately. They were having a sale on Seven Seas so I bought a manga, and the last day they were beginning some DVD sale so I bought one for, like, 2 or 3. dollars.

Now I present you what I've got:

Soul Hunter DVD 1 - middle - This came in first, and was the DVD that cost cheap. I own the first two manga [called 'Hoshin Engi']. I don't know why I bought it, now that I think about it I should've used the money on Yubisaki Milk Tea...
Quantum Prophecy: The Reckoning - right - The third book of the Quantum Prohpecy trilogy. I kind of wish it came out last year so I probably would've had more time to read it, but I'm going to try to read it! Although I don't really remember much from the first two...
Tetragrammaton Labyrinth - left - I actually read it already, and it was pretty cool! :) Okay, so it's labled as 'strawberry', or 'yuri', and although I was expecting a bit more like from Strawberry Panic all the crazy demons and fights were awesome. I'm hoping to get more but I'm not sure where or if I can.

Yup, that's about it :D

XC Practice

Well, I've been complaining about it for the last several posts: Cross Country Practice.

Well, I'm a bit sore every now and then, and my shin splints and pulled hamstring[s] are still here but not hurting nearly as bad as during track. I'm lasting but since I hadn't gone to any practice since the end of May I was a bit out of shape. That, and I have to get up at 5:18 every morning to go run -.-

Anyways, the first two weeks were the 'dead period' meaning we weren't supposed to be running and training and stuff yet. So we did agilites and bleachers and more agilities and bleachers and, last Thursday through Saturday, games :) We have practice Monday through Friday, up until about 7-7:15 because of summer school, although I'm a bit nervous in two weeks when summer school is done and we don't have to stop early...

This week, on the other hand [exluding Monday], concludes my third week of practice [we don't have practice tomorrow, thank goodness]. We've been running this week, and were put into groups on Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday we ran in groups of 'returners' and 'newbs'. Tuesday sucked 'cause our first official running day, and he made us do Citrus loop [and the wash], which is four miles, maybe. Wednesday, we did Francisquito and back, which is about three miles, after we had to run an 800 to see what group we belonged in. I'm group 2 [most likely not 3 'cause I've done track]. But yeah, so we did Citrus loop again yesterday and Hollenbeck loop today, which is a mile shorter. Truth be told, I'm pretty tired when I run and I know I'll be better after a while. Actually, I get a bit embarassed when the new people beat me...

So yeah, that's practice. Afterwards, when I get home, I take a shower, eat breakfast while watching TV, then hang out. Sometime during the day I take a nap. Then I have to do it all over agian...

'The Last Airbender'

Before I begin, I'd like to briefly recount my Fourth of July:
Got up and cleaned the house. Between 2:30 and 3:00 the first of few people showed up. It was only a small party [a total of 15 maybe, including the five of us]. Me, my eldest brother, and our non-related relative play Super Smash Bros. Brawl for several hours, until 7:00 when we had grilled chicken and hot dogs. Then we watched some fireworks. The three of us went to play more Brawl [after eating cake], and sometimes my other brother would join. Later on, aroun 10, we watched scenes from Whose Line Is It Anyway? until the last people left. :)

Well, speaking of Avatar [or Last Airbender, whichever], I've bought both mangas Del Rey released. I liked the Prequel, although upset that it was too short AND it was 11 bucks. The movie compilation was cheaper, although I was kind of upset that it was so brief and, dare I say, kind of choppy. But it did relate more to the movie seeing how a lot of the stuff not in this manga weren't in the movie either...
.
Alright, so the movie *takes in breath* Well, based off the reviews and what people said, I think they were overexaggerating a bit when they said it completely sucked. I enjoyed it, and found some problems with it, but I don't think the people understand how difficult it is to put 10 hours of a show into 94 minutes, and try to keep it [slightly] true and similar. I do wish they put in a few more scenes from more episodes, but at least they kept the main storyline. Also, I believe the fact that they mispronounced people's names bugged everyone, but my brother came up with the idea that they were going for a more authentic pronunciation, not ones that are whitewashed. What else...? Well, all the Fire Nation [most] is Indian, which was kind of interesting since the Fire happens to be the white-est skinned group in the show. Speaking of, I also remember how people said nearly all of the main people were white, and they were racebending or something. Oh well--you expect a cartoon based on Asian ideas, etc, created by two white guys, to be correct? Come on; besides, at least there were still actors and minor roles that were Asian.

*Grumble grumble* I honestly hate it when people say things suck, because it's all a matter of perspective and tastes. Now, I'm going out of the topic but I want to get this written: There are no absolutes. Period. 'What do you mean?' you ask. Well, let's say I like Movie A, and a lot of people like Movie A too. Well, there will always be at least one person who didn't like Movie A and will complain about how it sucked. Also, same goes for music and other things people [really] like. I like rock and alternative and also some weird songs. I will often say how rap and pop and all the 'hit songs everyone knows' are stupid. People who like said songs will get offensive and bag about out rock, etc suck. Well, it's a vicious circle. Most people will make fun or disregard things they don't like, but when someone complains and argues that whatever someone likes is stupid, the people will take the offense. Basically, everyone thinks they're right and they're likes are absolute and will bag on things they don't like. But when it comes to people bagging on their favorites, it's a death match.

Unsure Feeling

Well, before I forget, I think I have to mention something. Last year [about this time, actually], we went to see the second Transformers movie and there was this one preview I was totally siked about. Avatar [not the stupid blue-people one, the one with Aang]. My brother and I have been meaning to go and see it since it came out on Thursday, but now I'm not too sure. We're going to see it tomorrow morning. The problem is is that I read a review Thursday [or something] that said the movie was crap. I got nervous, but figured it was just some guy angry about the movie. Then this morning I got worse news: people in at practice were talking about the director guy and his movies, and said that Avatar sucked. I was shocked. Everything they said made the movie sound horrible, and that you should just stick to the cartoon. Right now, I glanced at the movie site to check out the showtimes, and glanced at customer reviews. They ALL said the movie sucked... Ugh, I want to see it but now I don't, and I'm afraid of saying things to my brother who wants to see it.... Dammit, they should've just made the movie good...

Manga Update #24

Well, I suppose that having so many entries dedicated solely to manga and books makes me a nerd, but whatever! Although, I have to blame school this year [and possibly next] for not writing so many entries in '10... *sigh*

But here's my update of my manga, everything from this year [except from CMX BARGAIN]:
CLICK FOR BIGGER PICTURE
The manga from my bookcases [and Shutter Island]. Majority of the manga I bought this year, about forty [I think].

I know I haven't bought many books in these last six months [whoa, it's already the end of June!] Actually, I did buy a lot this year, now that I realize I'm 12 shy of 300.... O.o
Anyways, I don't plan on buying as much manga this year as last year: one, it's expensive. two, my mom is a little annoyed I have so much xp. three, I'm getting a little out of it, not entirely, and I'm going to try really hard not to buy manga I don't really want unless I get a good deal :)
CLICK FOR BIGGER PICTURE [although the titles are pretty visable]
The cheap one-dollar manga I've bought this year from my friend at Franks'. I haven't gone to talk to him for a while [in fact, I've kind of been ignoring him...]
Anyways, I hope I can fine more cheap manga :)
CLICK FOR BIG- actually, you don't need to...
The second part of the 365 Days of Manga contest, Galaxy Angel volumes 1-5. I haven't even read it yet, though, but it looks kinda interesting. I was hoping he'd send me more... interesting [and non-shoujo] manga, but whatever. Free's free :)
EDIT: I also realized, like yesterday when I was cleaning up, that I won Galaxy Angel Rune anime DVDs 1-2 baaaack in '07 from RightStuf. It's like a foreshadowing without knowing...
From now on, I will be doing 'Manga Update #'s for my manga, and likewise with books, so if you don't care for these you don't have to read 'em. I'll try my best to update more often since it's summer, but...oh gosh, I just realized when I wake up at 5:15 tomorrow morning, I'm going running........

Relocation

Today, my mom recruited me and my brothers [again] to help pack up and move things around 'cause she has to move her room.
It wasn't too terribly bad, but it was more fun on Wednesday because we played with a bouncy ball for an hour or two [haha]. We finished packing up boxes and bringing the filled ones down to her new room. I don't know how many times we made the trek down and up, but I'm glad it's over xp. But yeah. since one of my brothers didn't eat breakfast, my mom gave 'em money to go buy pastries at a corner store, and they got me a honey bun. But it wasn't any normal bun: it was covered, plastered in glaze that at first I was like 'oh yum' until I found out there was 600 effing calories in that thing. I hate it slooowly the whole day, so that may have been why I wasn't so hungry.

Anyways, the coolest thing evar! :) While looking through one of the closests, we found a globe. I was thinking: it's a globe, not like I haven't seen one before. Until my mom said it was really old and the globe still said USSR or something on it. That caught my attention, and my eldest brother and I ran towards the globe [kind of] and saw that it did, indeed, said 'Soviet Union' on it. :D It was cool! I knew it fell around 1990, so it must have been in the 1980s 'cause, after further inspection, there was even the split between East and West Germany. That. Globe. Was. Awesome. :D It's a shame, though, that my other brother pulled it in half and somehow convinced my mom to throw it away when us two were down in the new room. *sigh*

The worst part was that it two us TWO HOURS to get home today. Why? Well, I'd love to say traffic, but it wouldn't have taken more than an hour. No; we got on the wrong freeway, got off, drove for who-knows-how-long, fuinally called our dad to get directions and found out we were waaay off. He helped us get to the right freeway, which was packed, so after a little while we took the streets for the last hour and drove home. Then, I collapsed on my bed, and slept for two hours. I ate pizza at nine :)

Not much of a day, but it was fun. I'm still sleeepy though, and it doesn't help that xc practice starts on Monday. Oh shiz, I'm going to have to be running....

Summer Vacation

*munches on chocolate graham* Okay, so this is my second official day of summer vacation, and I must say it is delightful not doing anything :D I finally went swimming for the first time this summer, although I must admit: the water was cold! I hated it but it was hot today so after a while it wasn't too bad. The only shame was that my brothers soon tired of the water quickly, so we didn't get a chance to hang out too much...

But yeah; I slept in till, like, 11 today, although I planned to wake up around 9 or 10 so I could work on my story. Didn't work out the way I planned. I need to start my summer reading for AP Language *blech!*, which I will describe later on.

Also, I will *hopefully* actually get around to running this summer for cross country; I blame my ankle and shin splints and lack of not having run for a long time after the accident that made me hurt REALLY bad after my first day. Although, I must admit I was only tired last summer; then when we did the lunges, I felt like crap. *sigh* But I want to be a better runner and I already did track [although I'm not good at it]. I'm not sure if I will have any friends there [I have some but they also have friends and I personally feel they only talk to me because I'm alone [sometimes I feel that way]]. While I do admit I like being alone, I also like talking to people. *sigh* We'll see next Monday...at 5:30...

Well, my summer has consisted of video games and the computer and reading. Actually, that's how my summer's usually are [haha]. But right now I fell in love with this webcomic called "Questionable Content" by Jeph Jacques. I may not get all the indie jokes or whatever, but the comic is generally hilarious. I'm only on number 175 out of, like 1600... Sheesh, I have a lot to read...
Anyways, this comic [to the left] is one that I found hilarious, simply because it takes on D&D but makes it nerdier and funnier. It probably seems funnier once you know who the characters are, so I insist on reading this webcomic :)

Speaking of which, I'm aware I haven't written in a loooong time. Usually, though, It was only about my manga collection and books and stuff. I will try not to talk about it as much, maybe just a mention or something. Oh, which reminds me I need to update what I've bought this year. And I'm nearing 300 manga... holy shit...

Free!

Last Thursday at 12:22 in the afternoon, our school got out of, well, school. :D

The only thing is, is that it doesn't qutie feel like school's over. I mean, I haven't been doing much either, but I keep having this feeling that I'm supposed to go and do homework or it's just another long weekend and school will be here again. Hrm...

On other news, my brother came home! Yay! :D It was also last Thursday, around 6-7 in the evening. My dad and I were going to go up and get him Friday, but my mom was compaining that he would have to stay up another day, blah blah. Sigh, but at least we're all a family again :)

CMX Bargain

Oh...my GOSH!!! :D

Sorry, couldn't help it, but what if you got such a good deal: you have two big-ass boxes of manga, and the guy says "They're three dollars each, but if you buy three or more I'll give them to you for a dollar each."

My heart stopped for a second.

I looked through each box twice [each had at least 60 with duplicates], and I made sure I got any volumes 1 or volumes of series I already have, etc. So yeah, I snatched 21 volumes and got them for $20. I was so excited, carrying my box of manga around Franks' all day. Haha, you should've seen my mom's reaction when I came home with a BOX of manga xp [
LIST OF MANGA IN THE PICTURE] EDIT: I didn't buy Omukae Desu. volume 1 that day, but I forgot to take it out of the shelf xp

I wonder if he'll be there the next time I go, but he said another vendor was going to go buy these books that day for a dollar each, so maybe not... Still though :D

AP Testing

Augh! I can't believe the AP testing starts tomorrow! O.O I have less than two weeks to study my brain off and cram as much world history shit in my memory just to forget it all once the test is over. *shaking* I'm so nervous, though I know I'm going to do fine [I hope!]

But yeah, I need to get back to studying 33 stupid chapters of history. We have a practice test this week, and to be honest I don't know what I'm more afraid of; the 70-question multiple choice that could be about anything and everything, or the three essays I'm going to have to write which could be about something I don't know. Okay, it's the essays I'm worried about.

Augh!

365 Days

What's this '365 days' you might ask? Well simply: it is a contest put together by Jason Thompson, the author of King of RPGs and in a position of other manga-related things. [This contest can be entered on http://www.suvudu.com]
Anywhoo, speaking of a contest, guess who won?
That's right, yours truly *bows*

I am so not trying to be a show-off, but those five manga in my hand; yep, I won them for free :) My first thought when I saw that package in my mailbox was "holy sh!t, it came!" Then I thought "oh wow, you can fit five manga in a mailbox like that" xp I was really excited to find out that I won. They are as follows:
Kamichama Karin Chu volume 1
Kamichama Karin Chu volume 2
Kamichama Karin Chu volume 3
Kitchen Princess volume 9
Orange Planet volume 1
I then realized that they're all girl series, which I don't mind but they don't frequent my bookshelf too much. [haha] But I'm happy nonetheless. The first series, Kamichama Karin Chu, I don't believe I've ever heard of it but it looks interesting [but I'm wondering if I won't understand since it says 'the sequel to Kamichama Karin'... Oh well, I'll try to get around to it.
Next up is Kitchen Princess. It's a good thing he sent me volume 9 since I already own volumes 1-3. Hopefully, however, on my next shipment I can get some of the ones I'm missing: 4-8 and 10. :D But it's antagonizing me since I really want to continue this series now.
Lastly is another series called Orange Planet. It sounds pretty funny so I think I'll enjoy this one. Unfortunately, based off of Del Rey's website, this series only has one other volume out so even if I do fall for it I won't be able to get far in it.
On a random note, I just realized all these series are from Del Rey *awkward* But maybe it's to sponsor them for getting his book published. A book, by the way, which was crazy hilarious! XD King of RPGs was probably the funniest comic/manga I read in a while when I got it a month or two ago. It makes me connect with my inner-nerdity so much so that I knew [and connected with] all the stuff in the book. I'm really looking forward to volume 2!
Anyways, seeing a pattern of Del Rey books coming my way [and if Jason Thompson managed to get this far in my post], hopefully I can get more Kitchen Princess [volumes 4 and up] and maybe Ghost Hunt [volumes 3 and up]. There's honestly too many series I want, but I'll keep it short and sweet; I'm only recieving five more and these two have plenty enough that can fulfill that requirement :)

Practice

So yeah, I think a in the summer I wrote a post about starting cross country practice--correction: I did not actually do more than a day or two because my ankle was still messed up since spring and I got sooo sore from the first day. Why was my ankle messed up, you ask? Last Easter my family and I went to a relatives house and they lived in the boonies with horses and goats and a lot of dirt land. They had ATVs and after a while I rode on this one four-wheeler where I ended up flipping to the side, squashing my right ankle between the dirt and the wheel. Yes, it hurt like Hell [or as my friend would say, a Mother --]. Anyways, it got all swollen and purple-red-yellow and it's still a bit discoloured now and it was HORRIBLE!!! D:

So last week track practice 'officially' started. It wasn't too bad for the first day. On Tuesday during sixth [which I have Sports PE] we changed and went to the track. We did a warm-up lap, a lot of lines [or agilities or drills, whatever you call them]. I was doing fine and surprised I wasn't too tired yet. Then after doing one exercise we had to do bleachers. When I heard that, I was like 'hell no'. We had to run from the field [where we were] to the home bleachers, run up the first stairs, up to the top, over, down at the next stairway but not down them, over, up, over, down, down the stairs, down under the bleachers back to the field. Then we did a cool-down lap.

Wednesday we didn't have sports PE so I went to afterschool practice. We did the warm-up lap and stretches. Then we did speedwork on the second day! O_O Basically, you have to run a certain distance as fast as you can and you keep doing runs over and over again. Being a newbie, me and some other girls did two 200s, a couple 100s, then several more 100s. [it was easy speedwork but still...]. Tuesday didn't make me sore, but this did it a bit worse.

But Thursday...my gosh... We had two hours of sports PE, so we did the lap, stretches, and a lot of lines. Then near the end of class [I didn't have a watch] he let us have a break and we went on the bleachers. This time it was version 2. We had to run up the seats of the bleachers five times, then hop up them twice, then do the same thing as Tuesday. Last was the cool-down lap. *faints* This made me so tired and sore.

So today I went to practice after school [Friday was raining and I kind of didn't want to go =p] In sports PE we had study hall, so practice was after school. It was pretty short today, though. We warmed up, stretched, then we had to hit the road. Being slow and a newb, I was in group 3 [or would it be 4?] which is the slowest, but I know I am. We had to do Azusa-Loop and the Wash, which is kind of a rectangle... Hold on...
[<> So that's it. I'll be expecting myself to be sore until the end of the season [or end of time, which ever]].

Third Bookshelf

Back in August, the first weekend after school started, my parents and I went to IKEA and during that trip we got two brand-spankin' new bookcases for my manga! I was so happy to get them that my dad and I built the first one that night. At first I was happy [although it wasn't really that much bigger than the one I had]. I was first disappointed that it's colour was light, but I've gotten used to it. Four shelves eache holding 20-22 manga each.
For my birthday I got a thrid bookcase which we built on Christmas and I organized then as well. Look at the majesty of have three instead of two!:

:) So yeah, basically I think it's obvious where this conversation is going: I need to update all the manga that I've bought [and don't forget the comics!]

DECEMBER 31:
Able to go to Barnes on the last day of my 2009!
Negima!? Neo volume 4. Incredibly hilarious volume! Anya is so jealous of 3-A and stuff that I was laughing a lot in this volume. Although all funnies aside, I'm wondering whether or not if it's going to follow what happened in the anime in the last two volumes. Hrm...
Finally, After School Nightmare volume 1! After I bought some Go Comi books from the guy at Franks, I looked up their site and found this series. I knew I heard of it from somewhere before, and after reading the first few chapter scans I wanted it real bad. I was hoping my brother would get it for my for Christmas but couldn't find it. I almost didn't, too, until I realized they put it under 'Nightmare' instead of 'After' [stupid stockers]. It did not, in any way, disappoint :)
JANUARY 2:
After coming back from dropping my brother back up at college, I was able to get my parents to stop off at this other Barnes and Noble. They didn't have anything that I really wanted but they did have stuff I wanted. So my dad and I went to ours and I got some stuff.
After School Nightmare volume 2. Kind of obvious I like it, huh? ^-^ I think it's really good since it's different [although I think I'm into the gender-bender genre *eyes Kashimashi*]. Also a great volume.
The Maze Runner. Just finished it. Freaking awesome, actually. I think my brother and I were watching Mythbusters [or some show] and they had this live-action, 5-10-second commercial for it. The commercial didn't really show anything but piqued my interest. So I figured why not. I'm glad I got it [I looked it up and there's a trilogy, so I've got another series under my belt.]
Finally, The Island of the Blessed. It [should be] the third and final book of this one series about Norse gods and stuff. I've only read book one, with book two collecting dust. It's not bad, really, but if it comes to myths and gods I'd choose Percy Jackson =p

JANUARY 9:
Bought a load of crap today. First went to Franks with my brother and got 50-something comics for $8. I;m not going to list them all [there's a lot] but the reason why there's so many is because I got 20 issues of Dark Angel [two are missing and I've got a duplicate of issue one.] I saw them in one box and they were all out of order and stuff, so I just grabbed them all [I felt like such a nerd with that big stack of comics, almost half of them one series.
And the other 30-something are a mix of anime and American. I've been able to read a couple from here, such as A Touch of Silver [which I could relate to but with manga instead of comics =p]. I got most of this Black Dragon one, one or two simply because of the cover [which is usually what I go by since there's hundreds, no thousands in those boxes.] The anime ones were some Area 88 and You're Under Arrest. [As per the first, I've gone back and there's up to 30 but some ass stole volume 5 so that's so annoying!]
Oh, and he gave me a short box to put my comics in which helps but as of now I think it's just a tad too small since I've got a few out of the box.
Finally my dad took me to Borders 'cause of a 33% off coupon. I was going to buy one or two but Borders had so many I wanted I wound up grabbing four. I remembered this gift card my friend gave me back in seventh grade and I assumed it was $10 so I debated which three to get... I got them all: After School Nightmare volume 3. It's a good thing, too, since my Barnes didn't have this, only four and some after that. Haven't gotten to reading it yet. Miki Falls: Spring. The first volume, I got four from the comic guy. American manga, not bad art, the 'secret' that Hiro had was really different and unusual, but I think it'd turn out to be a good series. The Outcast volume 1. Don't remember what it's about, but it's another Seven Seas title and I like the company. Last is Pandora Hearts volume 1. Just read it and I think I get it but I also don't. It's not bad but hopefully volume 2 will shed more things and catch my attention a bit more. [Oh!--turns out the card was actually $25! :)]

JANUARY 13:
Got a lot more comics today. I think it was about 40 this time around, but since I didn't count he gave the whole lot for me for $5.
From the first picture, the top shelf is this Annihilation series that has the coolest covers. Ever. I remember looking through boxes in November and seeing the Quasar ones and wanted it because the cover was so cool, but volume 1 [and 4] weren't there so I passed it up. Also grabbed some more Blue Monday [but not the first one since someone snagged it]. Plus some other Lovecraft story and the last three have the creepiest covers.
Second picture has a lot more random stuff. Top shelf is some Next Mutants [or was it New?]. Anyways, I kind of like the X-Men series without the original X-Men. [Must be becuase of the manga]. Um, some Surrogate comic-adaption. Oh! And a few issues of Teen Titans! =p He thought I was kind of weird but I'm a kid at heart and I loved Teen Titans when they gave it on Cartoon Network. The last four are comic adaptions of this one series that my dad got for my brother [but he's reading them]. It's The Legend of Drizzit series by R. A. Salvatore. I grabbed them to kind of show to my dad, although the last three are actual novels that I borrowed [and didn't read] so I returned them and I did feel a little bad though...
JANUARY 16:
Well I was hoping to get some manga from the comic dealer, but he forgot [which makes me a bit angry becuase I came that day so I could return the Drizzt comics and buy manga but nooo...] Guess it wasn't my fault, I should've asked him for Wednesday. I grabbed a couple of comics though I would've gone through more boxes if my brother and cousin didn't want to leaver early. He'll be gone next Saturday and coming back maybe once a month or so until November. Kind of sucks, but at least I won't be wasting too mcuh money now.

Finals...

Ugh, I finally got through our first semester finals, and our reward is a four-day weekend. We get Monday off as well as having today off :) I guess it was worth it, but I hate hate hate studying!

Chemistry and Algebra II was on Tuesday. I thought those would be my middle finals. Chemistry was pretty hard, with 100 questions and some of the problems. Our period had to do 80 [she knocked off 8 in the begining anyways]. I did them all right before she lowered the amount. It was a good thing I did the extra ones--I found out I got 72 points, and out of 80 that's a 90. Not as good as I thought, but thank goodness I studied :) And Algebra was justa benchmark and a worksheet, which I thought to be pretty easy [hopefully].

English and Spanish II of Wednesday. My easy day, actually. English was also our benchmark and for the extra hour or so I just studied history. Spanish was almost our study guide, which we got answers to on Monday. I studied that, so I should get at least a 95 xp

AP World. Gah! O.o It was a 200 question final about 20 chapters, give or take 500 pages out of our book. *faints* I studied like hell the night before, and my only regret was not refreshing myself about the Persians. Our teacher gave us 'hints' about section two, which was the last 85 questions, so that was great since we moreorless got free answers plus extra credit for going afterschool. Total, I think I missed about 15-20 questions, which would be great if I did miss that many I'd get an A- [but an A would be AWESOME!!]

So yeah, now I'm on an off day and I'm just catching up on a lot of backlogged manga.

Another Winner

Well two weeks back [I think] I got the Tokyopop newsletter. In it was a contest. Now if I say what it was the contest was about I'd be spoiling it [and if you know the contest that kind fo spoils it, too.] So yeah, I figured it was a book I might bother getting so why not? I logged on [the first time in forever, really] and clicked on the button that would cast my vote. And I completly forgot about it.

Then last Friday I got an e-mail saying I was the contest winner. After remembering I entered the contest in the first place, I thought of it a joke. I clicked on it, saying 'congrats' and that in order to get the free book I'd need to send my address. I wasn't sure if they were joking me, but the e-mail looked legit so I sent it, saying 'thanks.' Then I got a reply saying that he shipped it. It then hit me that I WON. Actually, for reals, won.

I laughed, saying that it was probably going to come in sooner than Amazing Agent Luna volume 4, which we found on some site and ordered the night of my birthday. So on Tuesday after school my dad got me and dropped me off. I went to grab the mail, disappointed nothing came in again, and went to the front door where he was opening the gate and door. He said a package came in for me. Logically, since I ordered Luna a long time ago, I figured it was it. Then I took it and saw it was the book I won on Friday.

I immediately went to my room, and--like any normal person--took pictures whilst opening it and stuff [so not a dork].

Here's what I won:

And not only was it free, it was also signed by the authour himself! I'm such a lucky butt, aren't I? :)
